By inviting students to assess their community as it relates to health, they can take a leadership role in ensuring:

  • Access to a clean and safe environment
  • Access to healthy food
  • Opportunities for safe recreation and physical activity

Thanks to initial funding from the Colorado Health Foundation and State Farm and an ongoing partnership with LiveWell Colorado, students across Colorado have an opportunity to make changes such as:

  • Creating safer bike routes to school
  • Increasing the availability and affordability of fruits and vegetables
  • Working with school district administrators and board members to improve school wellness policies
  • Improving indoor air quality to reduce exposure to harmful irritants
