RISE Challenge Spring Support Series

Colorado Educators: looking for ways to involve your students in improving their community + receive funding for student environmental civic action projects? Join the RISE Challenge! This spring support session will help you start the Challenge and engage in quick planning to get your students to action!
The RISE Challenge creates a generation of citizens with the knowledge, skills, and motivation to improve community resilience to natural disasters.
Guided by a step-by-step process, students research their communities to determine vulnerabilities to natural disasters and the local policies or practices affecting them. Then, they develop and implement plans to improve the vulnerabilities. And, they have the chance to win up to $1,000 in prize money!

Description: This session will kick off the year! We will talk about the updates we have made to the program this year and talk about how to get the process started in your classroom. Also, where to find all the resources to complete the process and start planning!
Feb. 21st 4pm MT via ZOOM – CO RISE Challenge Funding Approval

Description: This session will review the first few steps of the process and determine what you need to get your student action project approved. We’ll help you problem solve any barriers you may be experiencing and how to address them to get your project approved for funding supplies!
March. 14th 4PM MT via ZOOM – CO RISE Challenge Action Story Guidance

Description: This session will address Action Story Videos: what they should look like and what information should be included to impress the judges. Also, we’ll hold space space to address any barriers to completing the process and how to address them to build momentum to complete your action project!
