Stacey Littlefield, Program Manager

After earning her bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of South Carolina Upstate, Stacey left her hometown of Spartanburg, SC to pursue her MS in Marine Biology at the College of Charleston. While working on her master’s degree, Stacey was awarded a National Science Foundation GK-12 teaching fellowship, which allowed her to become involved with Charleston county public schools. As a teaching fellow, she worked with students and educators to develop projects and lessons that involved local environmental issues. She has been active in the Charleston community through the graduate student association at the Grice Marine Laboratory and through volunteer work with schools in low-income areas. As the Program Manager for Lowcountry Earth Force, Stacey will combine her strong science background and teaching experience to engage students and educators in becoming lifelong, active stewards of the environment.

Eric Anderson, Program Coordinator

Eric is originally from Davenport, Iowa where he received his bachelor’s degree in Philosophy & Theater from St. Ambrose University and was also actively involved in the schools Environmental Club and Service Learning Department.  After college, Eric served in AmeriCorps, first in the NCCC program where he completed many environmental and education projects throughout the Southeast, and then spent a second year in AmeriCorps back in Iowa working at a school tutoring and mentoring youth.  After serving in AmeriCorps, Eric worked for the AmeriCorps*NCCC campus here in Charleston for five years as a Service Learning Coordinator.  It was through his time and experiences in AmeriCorps that really fueled Eric’s interest and passion for both service learning and environmental education.  After AmeriCorps, Eric participated in an agricultural exchange program and worked for a nonprofit Agricultural Foundation.  Eric is very proud to be a part of the Lowcountry Earth Force staff and is hoping to use his knowledge and experiences with service learning and the environment to help get more youth excited about and involved in Earth Force programs and become actively engaged in their local schools and communities.
