Benedictine sister appointed to state environmental committee
Sister Pat Lupo, the program director at Lake Erie-Allegheny Earth Force, has been appointed to the Pennsylvania Climate Change Advisory Committee, which will convene in Harrisburg on Sept. 5.
Gov. Ed Rendell announced the appointment on Monday.
Lupo, a Benedictine sister, has long been active in environmental issues. Her work at Earth Force, a nonprofit that launched in 1994, centers on environmental education.
The 18-member Climate Change Advisory Committee will advise the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection and will develop a voluntary greenhouse gas registry for the state.
